Yeah, I agree. I've been struggling with online dating (and dating apps, etc.) for well over six years now in two different major metros. It's frustrating because everyone will allude to how you should craft a profile and approach things in a very generalistic fashion, but when you inquire about any syntax that could get empirically applied, the discussion gets dodgy.

I hate the medium, to be perfectly honest. I get the feeling that it's a photography contest (at least from the male perspective) more than it is trying to sync up with the right partner with the similar perspectives, lifestyles, and relationship goals. Online, at least, you can find people who are single. Are they going to give you the time of day? Probably not. I'm three plus years without a date. I figure I'll be a 150 years old by the time I marry. FML.

Why do it then, right? Well, the craptastic part of it all is that it's the only way I've gotten a date in well... over a decade now. I just don't ever meet available women in my regular goings on anymore. I don't have the right friends, I don't know the right places to be, my work associations is a dry well (everyone is taken).
