I have one (one) asset. It is my command of English. It's worth absolutely nothing compared to most other things. I have never judged or condemned or made fun of anybody else for not having the fairly useless ability to put apostrophes in the right place or other pointless things. I teach communication to non-English speakers, and my first and most important point is always this: "Don't worry about grammar, if you get it wrong nobody is going to care as long as you can communicate."

That being said, I do allow myself the right to poke fun at myself in the way I did in the post I removed. I was ridiculing myself for thinking that grammar matters. It matters to me, but that is a very different thing from judging anybody else on their grammar abilities. I have never done that. NEVER. (I don't judge the students whose texts I read - I sometimes have to correct their grammar mistakes because that is, sometimes, my job but that's different.)

I have punished myself thoroughly and will stay away from here for a while. Please don't hate me - you can't hate me more than I hate myself, but still.
