Trying this one more time....maybe it was just too many words & my wireless internet lost something it the transmission????
I started my day out today, searching walmart.com to find the vacume i wanted & then found the closest store that had it is stock.....the closest store was over 1 1/2 hours away. How strange since every small town has a walmart & the larger towns have at least 2 or 3.
I decided to have a late breakfast before leaving & as I was standing in the kitchen, there was a doe standing in my backyard, munching on a few green pieces of grass that are left (the draught is very bad). This is the first deer I have seen in my yard & so close to my house.....I was so excited, I ran all over the house trying to find my camera....finally located it & stood in my upstairs window watching her & taking some photos. Leo peeked over the window & started growling at her....he has never seen a deer before & had no idea what she was....he wouldn't stop growling....how funny. She hung around for about 45 minutes before strolling back into my woods. How exciting....she was so pretty....looking forward to more I'm sure....she will bring others now she knows there is grass.
After that, I took off for the store. I have been very stuck without a vacume, so it was a must. The city I was aiming for is directly across from where I live....as the crow flys, it would only be about 1/2 your drive....but there is no straight (or even close to being straight )road. The GPS was taking me North & then down, so I went with it. The first 15 mile road I take leaving my house is beautiful. Winding through the woods & canyon, across the Kentucky river just like the country drives in the mountains at home. When I got to the highway, I decided to change the GPS to the most direct route. Just as it recalculated, I was at the street to turn on....had to make a quick lane change,& was off across the country & smaller highways. As I continued, the signs said there was no bridge across the KY river on this road. I thought I would be turning before that anyway, so kept going. Well, I came to the end & there was a ferry to cross the river. I wasn't ready for that at all. That was so awsome.....3 cars at a time. Only 100ft. I was nervous though....my truck was the last one on. I put it in park & made sure the break was on.....I had visions of my truck rolling over the back of the ferry & into the river. It was so exciting however.....some new experience every day. I wish I had brought my camera...."never leave home without it". So I used my cell phone camera to take some photos of the crossing. The country around there is beautiful...a bit more green than where I live (guess they have had a bit more rain).
On to the store & picked up the vacume....then I made sure I took the same route back so I could make the return trip over the ferry. That was a very unexpected experience. I felt like a little kid, chatting with the man that helps run the ferry. He must have thought I was a crazy, but that's ok....sometimes, it's feel great to let yourself feel excited about the little things & enjoy all the experiences possible.
I do love the things I encounter each new day......It will never get old. I love exploring new places & see new things, so I guess I came to the right place.
