I can say that I have the same problem with the living room. Manuals, magazines (which I know I can get a rack for), articles, notes that I made, slips that I have to keep in case something goes wrong with the item that I bought, recipes people give me to try out, payslips, newspapers. I also bought a file drawer (which is in the spare bedroom) to file everything and once in a while I get the courage to file it. I would say don't be sentimental. So I don't really have any advice just saying I have the same problem and it also irritates me.
