Oh my gosh!!! You even lost your dog!! This is terrible.
I don't think there is any advice in the world for this situation. But I am really upset to hear this. It can't be too soon to discuss rent with the landlord or consult friends to find out about realtors if home ownership is the case. But working full-time and the semester just starting is a lot going on. Can you drop out this semester? Is it too late into it to drop? This is a gigantic life event. There are some classes that are only available in spr/fall semester, though, so I understand if you're on a course and don't want to veer away. Whatever you decide to do, know that this is a dramatic situation and that nearly everyone in the world would feel overwhelmed if something similar happened to them. I would be so angry at that fiance if I were a friend outside of the situation...grr. They sound just about useless.
