Yah, the hospital wasn't realistic in a lot of ways--there is no way they'd have a fully-functioning kitchen complete with stove and silverware accessible to patients. And the amazing books on arts and astronomy rather than the cast off best-sellers and Bibles on most wards.
Not to mention that doctors are not on wards in middle of night at all and would not agree to sit down with someone to discuss records like that.
I didn't think they would be released so soon before the meds had chance to take effect--didn't think it was fair for doctor to blame each other's influence instead of meds not working for them having insomnia and getting even more manic. When I was that manic, I got sent to state hospital for over a month. The hospital is billing for stay so it's not them that's losing money.

I was floored with Kay Jamison's cameo in the movie--didn't think it was normal for her to meet with fans like that but apparently she met with the director when he was diagnosed because his doctor knew her. Powerful words which I assumed she came up with herself rather than memorizing lines.

Thought it was weird no attention or dilemna given to whether medications should be taken during pregnancy. The whole abortion thing seemed rather sudden--the alcohol seemed like the only clue as to what she was doing.
