It was the other way round for me. I gave up smoking before I gave up drinking. The last time not smoking was some 12 years ago. I think I struggled more, certainly on an emotional / psychological level with giving up smoking that I did with drinking. Why I don't know. I did find that I drank more after quitting smoking. (cold turkey) Which of course didn't help my journey into alcoholism.
Well done on your sobriety and I wish you much strength on giving up smoking. It is certainly one of the harder things I've done in my life, but the most rewarding.
