Can you take her to a different pdoc? I know it was hell getting her to this appointment. Honestly if she's willing to work with your therapist let her. Meds are helpful but will she even take them? I ask because my son no longer wishes to take meds even though his MI impairs his life. It maybe best for her to be evaluated by the school and they offer therapy to students with IEPs. Start with your pediatrician to see if s/he is willing to prescribe until you get to a pediatric psychiatrist that you like and trust. Other then the drug abuse what are her symptoms? maybe make a list of those to take to her dr. I say go to the pediatrician because thy're the easiest to get into.
