Are you able to recognize when you are entering hypomania (and worse)?

If so, what are the signs to you? Is there anything you do about it to try and curb the transitions? Do you even make attempt to nip it in the bud?

I actually enjoy hypomania and the ride that comes with it. But I also know the associated behavior gets me into trouble (thank goodness I have no money to spend). I have had a particularly good summer and find myself now in a fabulously elated mood. I wonder if this is a trigger to worse. I myself do recognize some of the signs - like talking a mile a minute, taking risks, getting extremely creative, getting irritable, and feelings of elation. Problem? I don't know what to do about it.
