All of the forums I had trouble on were forums I was on before I was diagnosed with a PD. The last one I was having trouble on was because I was displaying "PD-ish" behaviors. I remember that because I actually came here and asked for help. I've been judged however I'm using that to my advantage to help me develop more compassion towards people with BPD who haven't had the good fortune of long term therapy, Dbt or even medication .
It was long after the dx of complex PTSD that I learned that complex PTSD and BPD have a lot in common.
I got to know people on another forum that had complex PTSD who really wanted everyone to know it wasn't BPD.
The p doc that dx me with complex PTSD was more interested in treating symptoms then disorders.
This is getting complicated so I'll leave it at that.
The bottom line for me is PD is a mental illness and it is not the fault of people who suffer from it so I am using this as an opportunity to practice compassion. It is my emotional regulation training that allows me to turn my resentment into compassion.
Dbt works!
