Has anyone tried this? Were the results generally positive?

no I never tried this. the way my system was set up was when I dissociated the alters took control, each alter had their own sense of agency. if doing things with money was part of their sense of agency then while they were in control they bought, spent or saved all on their own. I the aware self was left hanging many times with bills and such things, because the others were buying \spending/ saving\ hiding money. in some ways my alters were better at finances then I was due to doing stressful things like balancing a bank book, paying bills would result in my dissociating and which ever alters who's sense of agency was managing these things took control and did them.
After my alters and I all became one whole person again I actually had to take a financing \ accounting \ banking classes to learn how to do the stuff the alters had been doing for me that I now had to handle on my own.
