Hello Ceramicplates, if you've come across any of my posts while reading you will know that yours is not too long LOL.
I don't know the answer to your question but I think you are absolutely doing this the right way... Eliminating one thing at a time to determine the cause. When testing the Wellbutrin if it turns out to be the cause, it may take some time for it to leave your system until you can know if it is the culprit. That should be something you can ask the doctor and of course he should also be monitoring you to make sure your depression stays under control.
I would recommend keeping a detailed journal showing both the status of the current change and some sort of reference to artwork you've done that day or week. Since creativity is such a subjective thing you may not notice when your "talent" is back until after it is well underway. You may look back on pieces that you dismissed or felt frustrated with and decide that they represent a spark in creativity even if you didn't like them at the time.
Since you're having frustration creating maybe also a rating system on each one on how hard it was to produce or how long it took or something.
Don't let the journaling get in the way of your creativity though!
I love animation and kudos to you for pursueing that. Last weekend I saw an awesome short animated film, all done by hand, music and foley but no dialog, about a young gay man who had not come out and although he was fine, the film was about how it effected the people he was closest to. It was called "Arrival". It is making show circuits right now but should be on the web sometime soon.
