Perhaps you might start with your family doctor. They do have some, albeit minimal, training in basic mental healthcare. They would at least be able to discern whether your issue is a mood disorder or something that requires a more involved diagnosis. They ought to be able to prescribe basic medication that could help anxiety and depression.

But seeing your family doctor might have other benefits too. They should be able to make suggestions regarding mental healthcare and even provide you a referral.

I am pretty sure most communities have some sort of mental health association. They would have lists of care providers that might help.

Finally, seek out a support group - specifically one that deals broadly with mood disorders. This as probably been the single most important factor in my own care.
