I agree with CobolCapsule that you should taper down very slowly from Effexor if you're experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I'm suffering terribly right now as I'm tapering off Geodon, but I had no problem tapering off Effexor years ago. Everybody is different. Chest pains may very well be the result of withdrawal but they should be investigated by a doctor.
