He's lucky that his faith is all he needs. Would sure make life less complicated. Of course, maybe he has a "garden variety" type of depression or none at all. I think everyone gets depressed but it becomes mental illness when you can't shake it. When it's deeper, more intense and entrenched than the "garden variety". Then there are some of us who find ourselves so unsure of "things unseen" that we it would be hypocrisy to pray. Our wavering makes us unable to benefit from this kind of thinking.
