I am not Christian, in fact I am agnostic. I read a story about a blind man who was asked by his taxi driver, did you pray? No one can pray away blindness or depression or any other disease. I do not believe God picks favorites.

I found ALANON helpful. It is not for depression per se, but if you had alcoholism in your family, it can help you cope. I learned many people skills there.
