When this was first posted, I had not recorded anything and did not/do not like hearing the sound of my voice, but I was interested enough to try it because very little of what's said is remembered, or is mis-remembered, and it's been like not going to therapy at all.

Since then, I've been recording all of my sessions and two things have happened:

1. It's like getting additional sessions every time I listen to the recording, which is a plus.
2. A lot of what's said still doesn't always stick, even when I hear it more than once, so I end up taking notes to read key points. It's easier to go back and read a couple things than drag out the recording and sift through.

As far as hating to hear the sound of my voice, I'm finally starting to just get used to it. Also, I place the recorder right next to my therapist so that her voice is clearest and, while mine is still audible, it's at least a little more distant sounding.

So, it's been a plus in a lot of ways.
Thanks for this!
