I disagree with this. I enjoy being in multiple rooms at once and carrying on a variety of conversations. I don't think we should be penalized either if we are sitting in a room and listening to the conversation but maybe don't have anything to add to it at the time or to say that if we aren't actively participating that we shouldn't be in the room. I think this is a minor annoyance that you all are complaining of. Also, mods need to be able to occupy multiple rooms at once so they can monitor conversations if necessary. And if you are chat host opening a room, and you want to go into another room to announce it is open, the room might close if you have to leave it to go into another room to announce that the room is now open.
If I'm in the Coffeehouse and someone asks to go to ES, I don't think I should have to leave my conversation in the Coffeehouse to go to ES to give someone support. I should be able to be in both rooms.
Again, I think what you are mentioning is a minor annoyance and to change it would change the nature of chat fundamentally.
