I was somewhat disappointed to be suggested that I take and offered drugs within the first hour of setting foot inside a mental health center, having not been to one in thirty some years. I know there are people who benefit greatly in their quality of life from the medication, and that it is a useful treatment. I personally will try other kinds of therapy first. I must admit, having been coping with mental illness without help for most of my life, that my perspective may be flawed, and the world I know may not be the world at all.
