Yes I took Ativan for awhile and it did a great job with my anxiety (and stopping the panic attacks). Just be careful because it is addictive. I have found Xanax, Ativan, and Klonopin to be equally as effective in controlling my anxiety. I am currently on Klonopin-- as with any benzodiazepine, I try to take it only when I really need it. Good luck with the Ativan-- it worked well for me.
