Just get a nail clipper and center it on your nail and clip . If your nail is too wide then cut one half of it then the other keeping it as even as possible. But when you file nails always file from side to the center. It will cause less breakage that way. If you would feel more comfortable go to a nail salon and have it done the first time. That way they can shape them for you and alls you would have to do is file them from there on to keep them how you like them. Hope this helps ya out.
