I do journal but I keep an art journal which has more of that than words. However I also express myself much more easily through the written word and since we started we often have sessions where I write and T talks. What I can't say I can sometimes write instead and it has proved very useful for me, because as mentioned above, we are still.communicating in the moment, just not 'normally' I suppose. If I take my journal in T will always look if I ask her to and read if things are written. If it is a drawing or piece of 'art' she will ask questions, explore the meaning behind it with me etc but this can be hard to do through spoken word.
I have just started a written journal today, but this one if for my inner child only. She has a habit of disappearing sometimes and I want to try and keep her around so she can experience what T has to offer, a safe space where someone will actually listen and look out for her. It is undecided at the moment whether T will ever see this or not.
Thinking about it we have a very unique way of communicating and I am very grateful for her.
