I have been dx'd with: schizophrenia, schizoaffective depressive type, DID (formally tested and dx'd, which is an ordeal) and depression with psychosis, at different times. I benefited from medications for a time, but was proactive in weaning myself off when the time was right for me. I have now been AP and AD free for several months. I am getting a promotion at work, am in a good marriage, and am planning a vacation trip at the end of the month.
I don't knock anyone for taking meds. When you need them you should take them. But i also think its okay to be accepting of people who do not take meds. Its a personal choice, and you accept the consequences. Bad or good.
