About 6-7 times since May 2014. Longest stay about 6-7 days (my pdocs at the time knew my family has financial issues so we tried to keep visits as short as possible otherwise medical aid won't cover it). I should have gone again two more times but I refused as my parents would have to pay cash and honestly IP hasn't helped much. I don't know, mental health is really not taken seriously, there's no specific ward for patients with mental health issues and even the hospitals I've been to that deal with mental health are so lax. My roommate was busy cutting herself in the bathroom and no one cared, they basically said she was being attention seeking, when one of the nurses called her sl** for having a relationship with one of the patients, and it made her depressed and angry. Oh and they also gave me some medication I was allergic to, and I specifically told them I'm allergic to one of the components, and I nearly died. So yeah, no IP for me thanks.

Edit: Also the first time I went to IP before I was diagnosed with mental illness but was having my first ever panic attack, they basically gave me ativan and told me to go home because it's all in my head and they need beds for patients that are actually ill. I explained I was having suicidal thoughts but still brushed me off.
