Trying T3 has been somewhere on my list of options for a while. I've never been able to get my pdoc to agree to it...he sends me to my pcp, who sends me to him. My regular doctor will tell me it absolutely won't be helpful if I'm not actually hypothyroid, and my pdoc tells me it's something my regular doc should take care of. I've had my thyroid tested a few times, and I'm not entirely sure whether one of the tests has been the more thorough kind or not.

Still, I feel like if it was something I really want to try I could push it more with him or even ask another pdoc, since I'm kinda looking for a new one anyway. I just quit Emsam and am basically so out of options I'm kind of freaking out.
I think I remember reading about T3 usually just being something used to augment, so I'm not sure if I should even be trying it right now, anyway. Would it be something I could feel a significant difference with on its own, or should I keep looking for a main med that actually kinda works and only try it then?

Has anyone had any good experiences with T3 helping much, or is it just over-hyped and only actually helpful if you medically need it?

Thanks!
