You won't be locked up unless you are a risk to yourself or others at that moment in time. And losing your daughter is much more difficult than getting a psych diagnosis or even having a hospitalization (which generally happens only if you are a risk to yourself or others). Just having unusual thoughts and getting help for them won't ruin your life; it will probably improve it.
Community mental health is probably the first place to try if you are uninsured. I've never worked with them so I"m not sure how it works but I think they operate on a sliding scale that goes really low and they can also help you figure out if you are eligible for assistance like Medicaid. It is set up by county and you can find your agency online. Your thing says you're from Ohio so this would be where to search Mental Health Provider Search
If you have a family dr they can also refer you. That might be faster but I don't know. My only dealings with community mental health have been requesting calendars for local services.
