Studies have shown that between meds and psychotherapy (such as CBT) there is no difference after 6 months. ( I think I recall that right.) If you can combine them, you benefit more and/or more quickly.

There are many drugs on the market now for depression. The old standbys are still around, such as Triavil, and there are SSRIs and there are SSNRIs... each becoming better at pinpointing that part of the brain that messes with the chemicals that "cause" depression.

Talk therapy and support helps too...which is what you can gain from being here at PC. (((hugs)))
