Ah yes – the school dream.
It does seem like most of us have had frustrating school dreams. Although there are numerous possible interpretations, I believe that the most likely explanation is that our dreams of school refer to the school that we all attend. It is the school of life.

Okey dokey now. So what can be done about these types of school dreams? As I said, virtually everyone seems to have had similar types of dreams. The schooling that we all need is not necessarily more world history or high school physics. The type of schooling that we need is the schooling where we develop the less developed part of our psyche. For example, an introvert would need to become more of an extrovert while an extrovert would need to become more introverted.

To expand on this, I was discussing dreams with a man who I have known for several years. He has always had a very good work ethic but is also a low-key, introverted type. Anyway, several years back, he started doing karaoke. By doing this, he forced himself to do things that made him uncomfortable. This helped to fill-in a weaker part of his psyche. A few weeks ago he told me that he had a dream in which he was grading exam tests. This means that he has progressed in his schooling to the point that he is able to evaluate others.

We can now see how he grew. The hard work probably helped but the main thing is that he identified his weaknesses and worked on them to make them stronger.

As for the dream of being chased, it may be that the dreamer is being chased by some spirit. However, my suspicion is that the dreamer is being chased by someone who is part of the dreamer. That is, the dreamer is being chased by a person from the dreamer’s unconscious. I doubt this dream person really wants to harm the dreamer. Instead, she wants to the dreamer’s friend and helper but in order to do this, the dreamer needs to listen to her and try to understand what she wants. When this is done, more helpful dreams will eventually follow. She should not be casually dismissed or ignored but she should be given the respect that is given to a real life person. By doing this, the dream person will become much less aggressive.

The number 50 is the product of 2 times 5 times 5. The number 2 suggests that there is a duality, which would be the dreamer and the female torturer. The 5 times 5 may once again refer to this duality. As for the number 5, I usually interpret it as symbolizing our experiences and the initiation to the next stage of development.

We now see that these two dreams are related. That is, the woman has been chasing the dreamer because she wants to have a more active role in the psyche/ego of the dreamer. The issues with school are due to the dreamer’s not sufficiently developing this part of his/her self.
