Just had to tell my new manager about my Mental health issues, I am pretty much high functioning, but have been coming unhinged lately and had an adjusted schedule in order to attend an IOP program in the middle of the day. That was with my old awesome manager who has a sister w BP1. She gets it. This guy called me into hi office and questioned me about my wierd schedule and my days that I work from home. I explained my situation to him and he actually asked "whats Bipolar". I did my best to educate him but I think that I freaked him out. I hope that I did not make a mistake in telling him, I had assumed that when the management change happened my old manager would have told him the circumstances surrounding my split schedule. I hope that this does not affect my ability to continue IOP. nor does it change the working relationship that I hope to gain with this new manager.
