Flexibility comes with time. You also have to remember that people's body type influences it too. I'm pretty flexible, but I have very, hmm, meaty legs. Some leg positions I just can't do the full pose, because my thighs are too big.
If you find yoga boring there's always power yoga, a bit faster paced and more strenuous. Gets your heart rate up and is pretty challenging.
