These days Doctors play poly pharmacy, throw a bunch of drugs at a patient and see if they stick, take these pills and if you get side effects take these pills on top of the original pills, the big problem with that is who knows what med is helping because you take six different kinds, the only way to know for sure is stop the drugs one by one until the patient decompensates , we'll bravo the drug companies got a whole bunch of money for nothing and when you try to whittle that down to what works frequently the patients decompensates to the level of requiring hospitalization , then the hospital gets a chunk of money to stabilize the patient, so everyone gets the money spread around , and the patients get very little, an office visit should be as long as neccassry to understand the difficulties they are having so they can be truly addressed , but then again that's what therapists are for because most places triple book the same appoint time figuring someone will cancel or forget there appointment, this way the Doctor has a steady stream of patients and can't possibly do any therapy or real communication with the patient, thus limiting the therapeutic interaction to refilling a bunch of prescriptions and sending them on there way.

On top of that consider a majority of younger generations are missing the skills for communication because there whole social base is mostly online via the sewer system called "social media", people on the Autism spectrum frequently do not understand common cues of body language , vocal inflections , gestures and so on, so what is happening thanks to "social media" is many people are lacking those interpersonal skills from childhood thus the rate of diagnosis of autism is being driven up , consequently having a larger base of medicated people to "treat" a disorder they don't really have, making more money for big Pharma , so Doctors are in a no win situation of prescribing more drugs and increasing revenue for drug companies, and supervisors of Doctors want the assembly line of patients to keep flowing so they lean on the practioners to prescribe, prescribe and prescribe some more instead of getting to the root of the problem by talking to patients ( who are lacking social skills to begin with, and a lot of treatment should be more directed to teach those and get people to express themselves, thus the patients are happier and more full filled by there interactions ) we as a society are creating some of our most vexing problems, yet can't step back and see the bigger problem, we are doing it to ourselves and all the drugs in the PDR can't treat or cure stupidity and blindness to our own actions , if people took less drugs and learned to interact and care for each other we would have a whole lot less depression.

People need to love themselves before anyone else can , love can go along way in alleviating so much suffering , I am not saying love alone can cure depression but it can make a he'll of a dent in the problem, we are all brothers and sisters and reaching out to each other and caring is the ounce of prevention , that is worth more than a pound of cure.

Although I bad mouth "social media" and always will the one good side of technology is places like this site where we can reach out to one another, to give and receive support and understanding, to vanquish the feeling we are alone in this , or no one would understand , we here are truly the fortunate because we are not isolating ourselves from the world and becoming hermits, I am willing to bet this site had helped more people than any handfuls of pills ever will.

You are loved and respected here turtle , don't forget that , this is a place of support and common ground ,no matter what brings us here , we unite and care for ourselves and others.
