I am fortunate that I have a pdoc/therapist that I can trust. I have been seeing him for 9 years. My previous pdoc was good for about 6 years, before I lost my trust in her. She had been fairly easy to reach in an emergency in addition to being helpful, but she started to make me feel worse when she called. She would bring up hospitalization all of the time and say it was all she could do for me, before she had listened for very long. I just thought she wanted to hand my care over to the hospital, so she didn't have to deal with me. I thought she didn't have any idea what to do with me. Seventy percent of her clients were kids/adolescents with ADHD. All she had to do for most was write a prescription for a stimulant.
