Hi. I am doing much better than when I posted Monday. I did go to the psychiatric ER, but I had a negative experience and received no treatment. Whoever was in charge of verifying insurance made a mistake and insisted that their hospital was out of network and not covered by my insurance. I told them I had received treatment there 2 years ago, and that I doublechecked my coverage before I made the 1.5 hour drive up there.
I received no treatment or medication. I was not suicidal but I was not in a good state. The doctor told me that my insurance company wouldn't "play ball," and to have a safe drive home.
I also told them I am diabetic and hadn't taken insulin for days. They waited 3 hours to check my blood sugar.
I made a complaint to their patient rights department. I am just really frustrated. It's Friday and I still don't have my prescriptions. I saw my regular doctor last night and he is getting me back on Latuda (for some reason my insurance denied this in August even though I've been on it a long time) and increasing Lithium from 450 to 650. He didn't call in the medicine to my pharmacy, though, so that's not good...ugh
Thank you for listening. I am glad I found this board!
