I like my alone time, too - I work from home, so I get space every day once my husband goes to work and the kids are in school. I'm working, though, so I can't go hog wild. I can't remember the last time I was home alone and wasn't working. Even though I don't get to totally let go, I do feel better getting the peace and quiet of the house and living on my own schedule for those hours each weekday.
I'm mainly chiming in to suggest you consider wearing the kilt when your wife is home, as well. My husband has a kilt...well, 2 actually. A dress kilt (which he doesn't wear often), and a utili-kilt. He wears the utili-kilt when he's home and working on projects. He loves it. If you love to be in it, why not wear it whenever you want?
