I can appreciate that. For some, however, a diagnoses can make the world of difference, validating someone's problems and providing answers that lead to treatment. I went years thinking all sorts of horrible things about myself because of my OCD (intrusive thoughts, in this case) but when I was effectively diagnosed and treated (not cured, sadly) it was a huge weight off my shoulders because it meant that it really was a real thing as I expected for many years, rather than my just being a horrible person.
