I'm wondering if there is a right way to pray.

Most of the time, I will pray in my head. Sometimes I pray out loud, but I feel uneasy talking out loud because I've always found it strange.

Is there a reason why people pray out loud vs silently if God can hear us and know what's in our hearts even when we don't speak?
