Eric,
Thanks for the tip.....I know that some men can honestly just be the protective type. I am in definite need to just take care of myself to the maximum of my capabilities right now. I think it's also my way of showing my husband that he doesn't have to throw money at things & they can be done without hiring someone to do everything like he always did. My husband could hardly do a thing & when I depended on him to get things done....nothing got done.....so now is my chance to show him that I can get things done & that it wasn't me that couldn't do things. Besides, to be quite honest & the main reason I like doing it myself is that it feels really good....a sense of accomplishment & all that kind of crap to be able to get things fixed & working again. To not have to hire an electritian to install the lights or a carpenter to do the casings & moldings or to be able to make my own draperies. I always enjoy the design process, but sometimes it's nice to be the one that actually does the work & pulls it all together. It's kind of like an artist painting a picture....when it's finished, it's your work or art & your accomplishment...not something that's easy to explain.
Most of the people here in KY are very much that way & will go out of their way to be helpful....it's not that I don't appreciate the thought & the offer.....I'm just in a place in my life where I am proving to myself that I can do all the things I know I can do, along with the need to be very very independent.
Hope you protective guys will understand that aspect of independent women too....lol.
Halliebeth,
Actually I do love the KY weather....the thunderstroms remind me of when I spent summers in Kansas with my Grandparents. The rain has been very gentle over the last few days....kind of settled in....gray all around & some harder rain....now it the time I need to check out my wooded area & see where the water runs so I can determine where I need to build my barn & dressage arena. I saw some water down there when I took Leo out for his potty walk....I just didn't feel good enough to walk all the way down there. I know I have some wet weather springs in the woods & a runoff creek along the side. Don't you love the little green that is starting to show....just in time for the frost....lol.
Chalmette,
Thanks for the get well wishes....I don't have time to be sick.....but when in the world does anyone have time for that?
Debbie
