I haven't had it happen in a while, but it used to happen when I would be chatting in chat rooms. My mind would be elsewhere, usually hovering over a local location (looking down at the world moving beneath me, and not always the same time of day), all while typing away and keeping up with convo. It was if my mind was bored, so entertaining itself, in two parts. Odd feeling, but comforting too. Hard to explain.

Can you project yourself? If I see a bird I will often imagine what it looks like to see from its perspective.
