Hi guys, sorry I haven't posted in a while. I haven't been feeling very well for a couple months. Thanks, BPII, for that. I want to stay connected here.

I've been taking gabapentin for over a year and a half for anxiety. They started me on it when I was in rehab for alcoholism. I has helped tremendously, and I've never been sober for this long without it.

I just found out that it might be affecting my eyes (involuntary muscle movement situation), so in order to determine if it's the culprit, I have to stop taking it for a while. Possibly forever if it's causing the problem.

I'm freaking out about this big time. I was already having increasing anxiety the past couple weeks before I found out I have to quit my anxiety med, so obviously that is compounding my anxiety with more anxiety about having anxiety. It's just a really bad time for this to happen as I've been feeling so unstable.

I got this directive from my doctor two days ago, but I haven't started tapering off yet because I'm scared. I'm at 600mg per day, so I hope I don't have much withdrawal trouble. But I'm expecting the anxiety to come back, and it's just all bad.

Has anyone had this issue with gabapentin? What happens when you stop taking it?
