Yes, mostly. There are one or two for whom we have given a new name, because their original names were not very nice. And a couple we have names because they just didn't have one. But mostly each had their own name. Often times we have found later on that alters names are quite punny in relation to their job or purpose. We don't usually realize that until we get to know them better. My real name (alter me, that is) is not Luce, and I only realized just this very day there is a pun in my own name. The implications are quite heavy, unfortunately.
