Hopefully you can reach some compromise on the texting. I do understand what was meant about how it doesn't allow for expression how one really feels. I've seen how and why texting can go wrong. Even like posting in a forum. Tone and inferred emotion is completely left to the reader, which can lead to serious misunderstandings.
