It is an individual outcome if an AD will make you manic. You need to go by your doctor's instructions and see what happens. Otherwise get another doctor. Actually my doctor has told me that an AD will not affect nany with BP. However, I think Welbutrin is the most activating. It is interesting to note that one FDA approved treatment for BP is the combo of Fluoxetine and Olanzapine. Fluoxetine is one of the more activating ADs. So keep this in mind.
