I hope you don't have to go to the hospital but I wanted you to know that if you do it's not really awful. It's not vacation but it's really not that bad. I always feel relieved because I am safe and I haven't felt safe for a long time when I get there.
There are groups and you see a psychiatrist usually daily and depending on the place there are other things to do when you aren't in groups. Some places let you keep your phone or have a computer you can use; others don't.
But if you have to go just know that it doesn't have to be a terrible experience. I was so afraid before I had ever gone and then when I finally did have to go I found out nearly everything I had feared wasn't true at all.
