Funny you mentioned graphic novels though... I just got started into reading them. Currently reading Watchmen and plan to read The Walking Dead.

Watchmen is fantastic, one of my favorites. Buy for my money Neil Gaimans The Sandman is probably one of the best graphic novels ever. The storytelling in stellar and the art is incredible. I highly recommend.
