I find that the events of a depressive episode fade out from memory, possibly because I do not want to dwell on how horrible everything was, but the memory of the color scheme remains. Depression is bleak, black but not pitch black, off white, and brown.
Hypomania is everything brightly colored, with the color perception intensified to the max.
Normal mood is when I notice such things as light pink roses which are neither bleak nor super-bright.
What are your colors?
