I've had four laser lithotripsies to remove kidney stones...mine grow so large I can't pass them on my own. And last summer I had to have actual surgery to get rid of one that was the approximate size of a golf ball.

And the pain...Well, I'd rather go through unmedicated childbirth again ten times over. I have a very high pain tolerance, but kidney stone pain is enough to bring me to my knees. I don't know why I keep forming them, but it's obvious that it'll happen again.
