I have the opposite tendency: I like to be upfront and bring up whatever I want to discuss first thing, jump into it straight. I really don't like to spend time on "irrelevant" stuff while something is bothering me or I am very curious. The last minute digging can happen more as the result of some unforeseen free association type process, when the conversation leads me into something new or something that was not discussed before. But still, often I wait with bringing it up until there is a larger context and more time for it.
