I was put on Cymbalta 7 weeks ago as I was in a deep depression and Latuda, Lamotrigine and Prozac hadn't helped. Nothing happened after the first week so my dose was increased. By the end of the second week I was more exhausted and achy all over BUT my ability to think and concentrate had improved. Still no improvement in mood though. My dose was increased again and within days I was waking up with a rapid heart rate so my pdoc said to drop it back to 60mg a day.

After four weeks I was despairing that it wasn't working and hospitalisation was being considered due to my very low mood and SI. However after week five I started to feel better. My mood began to lift and the exhaustion wasn't so bad. Now my mood is stable. The depression is gone. I am still tired but I do have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome so I think that is why. While waiting for it to work I searched the net and found out that many people said the real anti-depressant effect only kicked in after a month or more. Also other AD's have pushed me into hypomania or mixed states but Cymbalta has not effected me this way at all.

I wish you all the best.
