Maybe she is not trying to get at you at all? If the sun is bright she is probably just trying to protect her eys.

Someones eyes are so expressive. That may be why you are having such difficulty with it. I know that connecting with someone is so much easier when you can see thier eyes and expression.

Maybe you can suggest somewhere else that is not in the bright sunlight? I really think you need to tell her of the difficulty you are having. I am sure you can come up with a solution.
