Mine is difficulty falling asleep. I am otherwise stable on Geodon now, without ups and downs, but my medicine cabinet is full of PRN meds for insomniacs: Elavil, Ambien, Ativan, Benadryl. Sometimes I need to take several PRN meds to fall asleep. My biggest problem is that I cannot shut off my brain - I keep having thoughts. I think of my brain as a computer that I want to shut down for the night but some pesky application on the background is preventing shutdown and interfering with my brain.

I once saw a blog that claimed that bipolar is a sleep disorder. I realize it is not true in general, but for me, after the right medicine has been found that removes the symptoms of mood fluctuations and psychosis, what remains sure looks like a sleep disorder.
